    Boise Bench

The Boise Bench is south of Downtown Boise and is raised in elevation above the Boise River area. The bench is named such because the sudden rise in elevation gives the prominent appearance of a step, or bench. The Bench (there are three actual benches throughout the Boise Valley) was created as an ancient shoreline to the old river channel.

The Bench is home to the historic Boise Train Depot and extensive residential neighborhoods including the Crescent Rim neighborhood which is situated above Ann Morrison Park and the Vista neighborhood that extends South to the Boise Airport.

The Boise Bench and Vista neighborhoods are undergoing revitalization with re-investments from from the City of Boise and development of new parks and recreation opportunities. With it's close proximity to downtown Boise, recent streetscape upgrades and improvements in services the area has become more desireable.
